Also your teammates that are not in your party don't gain exp but the good thing is if you have less than a full party it seems like they will gain more exp then before (I could be wrong of course but this is just what it seemed like to me). Leading from anywhere to around 6 to 10 hours of grinding, but keep in mind I didn't ever go back to fight the optional mini bosses that spawn after beating the dungeon cause I didn't really feel like it.

Now this is something the next entry in the series doesn't do which could be seen as for better or for worse (the only time I really grinded in that game was for the final boss). You learn this quickly as in the first dungeon when I went to fight the boss I couldn't beat it cause I was under leveled. I usually spent the time in each dungeon working my way to the top, using a Goho-m to get back to the beginning then grinding until I was at a number like 15, 25, 35 etc. Now in terms of game play it can get a little repetitive. The cut scenes look absolutely wonderful. The character icons look wonderful and help give a good idea of what the creators were going for them to look like. The art style in this game wonderfully complements the game play. Although I'm sure that time will go up as I plan to 100% the game. The total time took me 114 hours and 44 minutes. The biggest difference between the two is mostly optional content that you can only get if you make the right choices. P4 and P4G changed me as a person by creating a wonderfully alive world that I can’t wait to visit again in another five years. The most notable Tracks to me are Heaven, the velvet room’s theme (I think it’s called Aria of the Soul or something), and the intro songs that can be found in both P4 and P4G. It’s not for everyone, but I still play some of their catchy tunes in my car today. It being Japanese singers speaking English gives it a strange charm that I quite like. The music seems to be a strange fusion of rap, hip hop, Rock, and something else. P3 is a worse offender and P5 is much better in this category. They can feel bland and lifeless with no puzzles and the same textures are copy pasted over and over again. After all, the dungeons are randomly generated. While I do enjoy the gameplay because of its satisfyingly snappy turn based combat, it can get a bit stale near the end.
These concepts are fused wonderfully through the use of the game’s calendar system, social links, and Persona fusion system respectively. P4G is a turn based rpg and life sim visual novel hybrid. Also, almost all of them are written to be like-able and/or understandable. I think that focus on character development is the key to these characters’ believe-ability.
Each one has an in depth character arc that makes you feel both close to them and proud of them at the end of your journey. I never felt bored with the plot because when nothing important occurred I was hanging out with some amazingly written characters. The rest of the game plays out like the longest episode of Scooby Doo you’ve ever seen.
We start in a sleepy country town where a murder has just happened. After playing P4G I’ve solidified in my mind that Persona 4 is my favorite jrpg of all time. Since then I’ve changed a little as a person and experienced both P5 and P3. The endgame is where the Investigation Team feels like a caricature of a Scooby gang, full of cliches and "netketsu"/guts, but as a bridge between classic and modern jrpg, it's forgiveable.ħ8h 45m PlayedAbout 5 years ago I played the original Persona 4 (P4) for the Ps2.
The "Golden" DLC character of Marie doesn't integrate into the main story flawlessly, but she still feels acknowledged by the Team despite feeling their sudden closeness and willingness to risk so much for a passing acquaintance a little forced. P5R's villains had some big "for teh evulz" energy but P4G's villains are twisted and complicated, yet somehow also possesses a purity of essence, a single-minded goal or desire they strive for. whatever you call your "Shadow" and coming to terms with the darkest, ugliest, most painful side of you. P4G is much more manageable and focuses much more so on interpersonal dynamics - the theme of facing one's past, doubts, shortcomings, sins, etc. 200h PlayedA little old and the game mechanics reflect its rural countryside setting - P5R is much flashier, filled to the brim with stuff to do, and can overwhelm you with its muchness.
